1960s Soft Woven Wool Red and Duck Egg Blue Plaid Shirt by Donald Davies of Dublin

£85.00
Description

There’s nothing that doesn’t say comfort more than a cosy wool shirt and this is a lovely example in a beautiful colourway. Bold yet feminine.

Handwoven in Ireland, it is a well-made classic piece, finished off nicely with little shell buttons. I love tartan and don’t think you can go wrong with a shirt like this.

Donald Davies was an Irish clothing manufacturer, best known for women’s shirts and shirtwaist dresses. They were usually made from wool or fine Irish linen, which was woven by hand. The company was founded in 1954 with Donald Davies’ wife Mary Davies as the designer. A shop opened in Paris in 1967 and New York in 1971.
