1960s Beaded Handbag in Sunshine Yellow

Carry a little piece of sunshine along with your essentials with this magical vintage beaded bag. It is in the original Shrimps style and is beautifully made with a zip fastening and yellow lining.

Vintage pieces come with their own hidden history, stories that we can only guess at. But happily in the case of this bag there’s a little insight into its past life, as it contains a small packet of wedding matches with the names ‘Harold & Sheila’ on it - and someone has even written a telephone number on the back. It’s such fun when a little gem like this conjures up the life of the person who previously owned it!

Material   Faceted plastic beads and textile

Origin   Made in Italy

Condition   Good with signs of wear. It has been enjoyed and the beading has been repaired a little crudely in places, but it has plenty of life left in it if it is looked after. The lining has some marks but no holes and the zip works well.

Style Tip   Experiment with colours - this bag will look ace with pastels, red, greens, denim, cobalt blue, turquoise, bright pink, neon pink... just to name a few!
