Vintage Hand Knitted Wool Jumper in Iconic Blue and White China Willow Pattern
This stunning one-of-a-kind jumper has been carefully hand knitted by a very skilled knitter. It is made from lovely soft thick wool, which will keep you toasty warm as well as stylish.
I’ve never seen one like this. I think it would have been made using a pattern available to buy between the 1960s and 1980s. The design, of course, is taken from the popular Victorian blue and white Willow pattern china, which was inspired by a Japanese fairytale called The Green Willow about thwarted lovers turned into a pair of doves by the Gods. Watch the tale here.
Like many people of her generation, my Nan had Willow pattern china and I just love the nostalgia that this jumper creates.
